Write on!
'Tis said that music be the food of love
Then poetry is surely love's hors d'ouvre
The poet's hand is guided from above
And writes of earthly passion with such verve.
Is poetry perchance love's melody?
For rhyme and music both so please the ear
They complement each other splendidly
Proclaiming what all lover's long to hear.
Hark the opera singer's soaring voice
The passion in their song so loud and clear
Then for the poet, let us all rejoice
For without words, there'd be no song to hear.
Thus poetry and music are as one
Romantic poets everywhere: write on!
