Wounded Whisper

 
"A whisper stirred my mind, my heart and my soul: 
And led my footsteps down a silent path: To a door
at the end of a garden: And reaching out I opened it."

In my head there has always been chatter,
since a young girl I can hear voices call and-  sigh:
with rhythmic beating-    and pitter-patter,
for beloved dead I can see within my mind's eye !
Oh, heart and soul is wounded and stained:
and grief and sorrow pour onto pages bloodstained !

And each bleeding wound is who I am,
once broken, battered, shattered- now humbled:
and  I am strong not a weak little lamb,
yes, at times I crumbled, tumbled and stumbled !
But, if real quiet I can hear mom sing:
and sense the soft fluttering of her angelic wing !
