WORDS
Words, though seemingly
Only a breaths physique
Is full bodied when it
Leaves your mouth
Generating feeling
Causing damage even when
that’s not it’s desired quest
Words that cut
Reaching deep
Causing internal bleeding
Reaching deep
Causing bruising that goes unnoticed
Unseen yet working
Long after they were spoken
Incognito
Causing confusion
Making angry
It’s destructive properties at work
Words of hope and wonder
Making happy, causing
Deep joy
Joy that must be seen
Must be heard
It speaks more words
Words that are pregnant with
The fruit that it is
Words that heal
Like a fine needle
Sewing the cuts
Words that sooth
Like a salve
Delicately adding
Ointment to
The bruises
Words that reach out
Looking for a way to touch you
As it removes the hurt
Words that touch
Like arms that hold you
In a strong hold
Choking out
The pain
Then in an embrace to
Replace the pain
With ease
With peace
With love
