Wonderstruck In the Clear Night Sky
We're up so high on the mountain top,
That the night air is cool and so clean.
Moonlit shadows slow dance in leafless drop
Free from pollution from the city unseen.
We lay gazing in awe, Mercury, Venus, Mars;
Wonderstruck in the clear night sky,
The first epic theater of shimmering stars
Dancing with the North Star that's hanging high.
The sounds of the gentle breeze embracing of heaven;
Fleeting flash of white light flashing close,
While the campfire sheds its soft light driven
Unforeseen untamable freedom repose.
