Woman Wanting To Exhale
one day
you will take me in your arms
in such a fashion
that I will instantly know
I can
exhale
release
let go of the great wall of defense
that shelters me in the Jericho of
my womanhood
one day
this victory over the darkness of mistrust
the walking on ground made of
slushy sand
this victory over words not said and words
whispered in the hush of silence
this victory over love lasting for an eternity
will be won
and I
will
sigh……
