WOMAN ON THE BEACH I saw her as she was just sitting there I watched the wind gently ruffle her hair She seemed oblivious of others around Sitting motionless without a sound I sat in awe of her stunning looks The kind you read about in books Eyes of the deepest shade of blue A marvelous tan -- a nice bronze hue My mind was racing -- dare I to speak The uncertainty I felt left me weak Finally my confidence came to the top I began to talk -- I couldn't stop She looked at me with a rather blank stare As if to say to me why would you dare Interrupt my thoughts with a bunch of words Words that too often I already heard I stopped talking and hung my head in shame When she suddenly spoke and asked my name Well now that woman has become my wife Together we enjoy a wonderful life We take the grandkids to the beach where we met And watch them play in the surf and get wet While we reminisce of that day now long past And the love we share that will always last 2 November 2018 For the contest sponsored by Brenda Chiri Picture No. 2 - Woman on the Beach

Hi, Andrea! No, it's all "made up" right out of my head but it reads like it could be true. That's how my mind works, I guess. I'd make a good con artist. lol Thank you so much for mentioning my safety during the hurricane. Unless the amount of debris cleanup far exceeds my deductible, I still am fortunate that I had no structural damage and neighbors on three sides of me did have. You are such a marvelous friend.

Thank you, Curtis! I love the simplicity in this little story because it shows the essence of life in showing the difference between genuine concern and indifference.

Thank you, John! Sounds like it could be truth, but it came out of my fictitious mind. lol

Thanks, Tom! I am doing well. I made it through Hurricane Michael without any structural damage and my last doctor's visit - just a routine visit - went well. I continue to keep you in my prayers. I appreciate your support and value your friendship.
