Abosede Ogundare Poet Free verse

Within Her Eyes

If memories could be awaken 
it would be within her eyes 
...years back when we were little 
moments we found solace in the Beach's water 
...even now every bit of it is still within her eyes 

Times we wrote our names 
with our little fingers, "Carrie loves Mary"
it would be washed away shortly by the waves thou 
but within us in our hearts it was never erased 
even now, as my friend stood before me, 
it's still written WITHIN HER EYES
