With Fingers Crossed

(Real Story)

It has been a dolorous and dreadful day
When my heart into shattered shards smashed
Knowing my sister was diagnosed with a tumor
Growing unnoticed n' unaddressed within her head
That gave her intense and instant headaches

Ascribing the symptoms to migraine
Which she was having for long
     Painkillers and medicines were taken.
But her unease grew deadlier than before
Reaching a point she could no longer endure.

It was then an MRI was taken
And the tumor was surgically removed.

Now I stay with fingers crossed
To get a comforting pathology report
With hopes in my heaving heart,
      Prayers in my trembling lips
And my eyes raised to Almighty God.

Will a happy news fall in my ears soon?
So, my deep dread will give way to hope
My pain, without delay, shall usher in joy
And the darkness blinding me will open to light.

Ever and anon, through smiles and giggles,
Through every twist and turn of life,
We were together like a pair of tweeny twins,
Prodding and prompting each other to move ahead.

All I want to hear is, it’s Meningioma, benign
Not likely to spread or cause serious harm

Her dear ones stay with fingers crossed
That a happy news, like the early beams of light
Shall filter through the thin curtain of their hearts,
Dispelling the hovering gloom and grief away.

Ah! Darn, so this is why I didn't see you on the list! No doubt your poem would've placed at the top - as usual - had you added "With" at the front of your poem title. I'm sorry, Valsa. I share my prayers with you. See you on the next one, my friend.

That's OK dear Edward. I wrote it mainly to relieve my mind of the tension l was passing through. I am very close to my sister. Of the four of my sisters, two are gone. She is the only one with whom l can share our joys and anxieties together. When the news of her ailment reached me, l was heartbroken. The pathological report is not very disappointing but causing concern. Thank you so much for your kindness and prayers.

Oh, God....I pray so. I would be in so much grief too. I share in your hopes and prayers that it will be benign. This pulls at my heart.

Thanks a lot dear Joe. My two sisters are gone ... She is the only one remaining. Of all my siblings l am more close to her.
