This poem started out as a personal thoughts about myself. But I decided to turn it into a anniversary poem in honor to my wife, for allowing me to just be me, with every breath!
Pattie!
With every breath
I am a straight line from point A to B,
An unwavering flame with dreams to be free.
Like the sun’s ascent, relentless and bold,
Or the sunset's glow, quiet but whole.
Let me be me, let me breathe, let me rise.
Following my dreams beneath shifting skies.
Time’s fleeting touch whispers goodbye,
Yet I seize its moments; let me be alive.
With every breath
Proud of the soil that nurtured my roots,
Living life with grace, praising the truth.
Bright visions of days shaped by clarity,
Knowing how easily life fades to brevity.
Let me be me, like seasons that shift, Adapting,
evolving—a journey, a gift.
I see with my heart, its rhythm,
its light, No regrets from paths trailing my flight.
With every breath
I never squander the gift of today,
Nor turn my back on what’s real,
not a play. This is me, steadfast,
unshaken by change— Dreams endure;
they’re mine to arrange.
But sharing my dreams when you’ll took my hand,
Together, we journey through this vast land.
Seeing with hope, feeling with grace,
Understanding the rhythm of life’s embrace.
With every breath I may take.
Thank you for letting me be me!
Happy Anniversary!
