Winter Settles In

Once winter comes it settles in Hugs the ground a second skin Thick blanket of snow uncovered 'til Spring Puddles iced over biting wind on the wing Chilled to the bone we head wearily home A crackling fire indoors ~ Autumn's no more

The welcome of the crackling fire is for me. Felt the cold and warmth in your poem Gershon. Merry Christmas, goodwill and happiness to you and your family, Emilia : )

Hello Gershon … I can feel the winter cold in your poem, and unusual summer weather here is like winter again. I think the South Pole is visiting for Christmas - Lindsay

Hello Gershon, sometimes winter hangs around too long. that is when we long for Spring. Sometimes the snow takes awhile to melt. Enjoy your evening my friend.

You nailed our coming predicament so well in this verse, Gershon. We are expecting snow later this week here in Colorado, so hunker down - we will be sending some to you as a seasonal gift! Happy Hannukah to you Sir! Bob H

Yes, winter likes to bring cold temps and snow. Such beautiful images you paint with your words. When the freezing wind traces my skin, let me sip on some hot chocolate and wrap the covers around me. :) Brandy
