Winter Came Calling
With resonating breath I leap to my feet to see
Of all Winters testimonies and all the verses conceived
A Winter storm was brewing pushing hard from the east
As the blue skies disappeared the wind began its siege
Filling the sky with looming clouds swelling with disbelief
Temperatures dropped the air pushed through to bringing a bitter freeze
Watching the first snowflakes as they gathered atop the trees
A gail force wind with swirling strength set the drifts rolling like the ocean free
Through the night I hunkered tight
As the warming fire raged
I fell in dream a peaceful sleep
And woke in a Winter dream
Birds of flight the clear blue sky the vale dressed in light
a sunray dawns singing a song as I sketch a muse of white
