Notes About The Poem

Bratte bakka og grøne lier

- Winter Birds -

When the temperature drops
Cold fingers, feet and itchy scarves
King winter scattered snow over the country
Decorated, as the beauty it created
Ice cold sea crashes against the coast

See how the birds are struggling in the wind
Birds die of lack of food every winter
Blue Tit, Yellowhammer, House Sparrow, Robin and Brambling
Cold, strong wind and snowy branches

Each calorie counts,
to survive is a matter of finding food
No stockings or warm shoes
Do not worry, my little friends
On my birdboard there is food for everyone

oh Anne Lise what a wonderful poem , is the picture from your home? I can imagine how the little birds struggle when snow blankets the ground and they rely on human intervention:-) hugs Jan xx

- Funny you asked, Jan ... because it looks like my cherry tree :) - And bird feeds are the same as mine, I have coffee cups in my tree - but not apples :) - No, it's not my private photo :) - Thanks for the lovely comment :) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
