Winter

Winter is when snowflakes are falling
Winter is when snowstorms come calling

Winter is when the world becomes white
Winter is warm fireplaces at night

Winter is snowangels and snowmen
Winter can turn us into slow men

Winter's a cup of hot chocolate
And a lot of within-the-house-dates

Winter is life inside a snow globe
Sweaters and mittens and woollen robes

Winter is when nature hibernates
Cardinals sing and we buy ice skates

In winter, the heat's never enough
But we need winter to make us tough.

Gosh, I like this one so much. Congrats on your well-written poem on winter. A few super cute lines in this one such as those last few couples. They were great concluding lines.

Dear Joanna, You have beautifully captured the essence of the season with your vivid imagery and heartfelt nostalgia. Each line evokes a sense of warmth and coziness, while also acknowledging the challenges that come with the cold. I love how your words remind us to cherish the simple joys and find comfort in the midst of winter’s chill. Thank you for spreading a little warmth in the coldest of seasons. - Blessings, Daniel

Great list, Jo! Indeed we do need winter. I love the way you highlight both the positives of winter like hot chocolate, ice skating, cardinals and warm firesides along with the challenges of cold and snowstorms. Well done! Best wishes for the contest! Blessings.
