Winked At Me

I heard a noise under the sink
that sounded like a clink, I think.
At first, I thought it was the cat,
her collar can make sounds like that.
But this tinkled, more like a bell
ringing as far as I could tell.
Now, what could it possibly be,
I just had to go look and see.
It couldn't be a rat or a mouse,
there are none of those in our house.
I cracked open the cupboard door
for a quick peek, and nothing more.
But what I saw was not scary,
it was a trapped, frightened fairy.
She looked up, smiled, and winked at me,
for I was there to set her free.
Prettier than a butterfly,
her wings were as blue as the sky.
How she got trapped, I'll never know,
but I'm happy I let her go.
