Wings of An Eagle
“Wings Of An Eagle”
Running from the demons who posses my inner thoughts
Trying to escape the grasp of everything that holds me in place
Jumping from one slippery rock to another trying to be free
I have to beat these suicidal thoughts or I may never see tomorrow’s sunrise
My depression is getting worse day after day as I’m nailed to the cross of life
Hanging there for all to gawk and laugh at my misfortunes
Throwing words of anger so hurtful not even God can erase
Never to be saved from the evilness that encompasses my soul
Suicide! The only way my mind believes I may escape from so much pain
Walking through the valleys of the shadows of death is where my legs will guide me
To a place where I sleep the days away and the nights are full of stars
A gorgeous place where I am joined by those who have already come to rest
Tired of running from these thoughts of sadness and heart break
To scared to reach out for helping hands afraid they’ll be pulled away
I step into the shadows of the moon upon the highest cliff over looking destiny
I spread my arms like the wings of an eagle and fly away from the evilness of life
