Wined and Dined

Exceptional effort is generally rewarded in kind Some efforts are rewarded exactly as designed Others are considered, then politely declined, When you made an effort what had you in mind? Have you tired of following the same daily grind? Perhaps you might try doing more than assigned, Consider going beyond the instructions defined, Then … possibly, then, you’ll be wined and dined Why do you always think you are being maligned? Thinking those higher on the ladder must be blind, When you know you have consistently outshined You know you are a perfectionist, or so inclined What a pity that for so long you’ve been confined When your great desire has been to be enshrined.

Fantastic monorhyming, Milt. Was this for a current challenge?

Nope, just wrote it for myself. Thanks for the sweet compliment. If it had been a contest challenge, I probably never would have come up with it! (chuckling)
