Winds of Hope

May the light
of living truth dispel
the penumbra of decay within us;

   may the winds
   of hope blow away
   our dank isolation from ourselves;

      may the warmth
      of goodwill thaw out
      our ice of hatred and prejudice;

         may we still hope,
         believe and pray
         despite and even because of these.
