Window of Past Moments

The evening sky invites me to gaze Beyond the porch’s open window, Igniting my senses to reflect about Bygone days like one long replay Where parts of time appear from a widescreen... Lingering on, a hundred diamond stars Flicker towards a dull, grey mural: The Moon, not full, but crescent, takes the lead With constellations dancing to her tune--- Then flash and zoom, the core of this plight Erases me from folds of mind that once Savored a wise and knowing grace; Entwined with laughter and intensity Of profound dreams gone wrong, The kind that's hard to siphon from my heart— when farewells loom to rip love's pulp accepting the value of a treasure learned. ````````````````````````` Jamie Pan's Contest 2/23/2017 Theme 6: Reflections on a window

So many images are saved in our minds over the years that they become forgotten, until something triggers a memory... I love those moments and your poem brings a few to mind for me... Such a wonderful, nostalgic write. Beautifully done, Nette!

For some reason, your eloquent poem makes me sentimental and cracks me up. Keeping the notes of long lines as a whole ensemble is a rare talent!

What can I say, this was amazing. Nette, your work always takes me somewhere beautiful, a gathering of thoughts and ideas and memories, just out there, where I can see them as they fade from view, the never forgotten. This was enchanting and mesmerizing.
