Winded

Luke lived in a place prone to an earthquake.
One in the offing made him shiver and shake.
He decided to act with full speed
Throwing caution to the wind indeed.
And moved to south Florida for safety’s sake.

Catherine, thank you for responding. I understand that upstate NY is beautiful, especially in the fall. I hope to go there someday. I trust all is well with you and your loved ones.

Thank you, Andrea. I'm suspect that some readers didn't catch the irony involved in moving from an earthquake-prone area to a hurricane-prone area. The fact that they failed to do so is my error, not theirs. I should have been clearer.

I don't blame Luke; we had a shake here one night that frightened the living daylights out of me. I hope Luke don't mind alligators and Burmese pythons though - Lindsay

Thank you, Lindsay. I have it on good authority that Australia has the greatest variety of animal life on the planet. I didn't realize, however, that Aussies also have to deal with earthquakes.

Jan, I knew you understood the irony based on the first five words of your response. Thanks.

Hi, Jan. Thanks, as always, for your kind comment. Major earthquakes are a highly effective way for skeptics to "get religion." The feeling is one of utter helplessness, and it seems to last for minutes, not seconds. I hope the UK doesn't have any more.
