Winded

Luke lived in a place prone to an earthquake. One in the offing made him shiver and shake. He decided to act with full speed Throwing caution to the wind indeed. And moved to south Florida for safety’s sake.

Thank you, Andrea. I'm suspect that some readers didn't catch the irony involved in moving from an earthquake-prone area to a hurricane-prone area. The fact that they failed to do so is my error, not theirs. I should have been clearer.

Thank you, Lindsay. I have it on good authority that Australia has the greatest variety of animal life on the planet. I didn't realize, however, that Aussies also have to deal with earthquakes.

Hi, Jan. Thanks, as always, for your kind comment. Major earthquakes are a highly effective way for skeptics to "get religion." The feeling is one of utter helplessness, and it seems to last for minutes, not seconds. I hope the UK doesn't have any more.
