Wind Sock Kite-Mare

Wind sock kites can be seen along the beach
Couldn’t afford one; always out of reach
     Until that Wednesday
     When one got away
“Please, Mom, let it be mine,” I did beseech

No other kids were in sight on the sand
I grabbed the string; the kite took off as planned
     Seagull in the way
     Tangled right away
Snarled in the jetty, I saw it crash land

Congrats on your awesome entry in my kite contest, Carolyn...I had never heard of this sort of kite and the story you painted around it was so adorable..A sweet dedication to Alexa too...There were 3 judges on my panel and they all enjoyed your poem immensely! We ate way too much ice cream, read the entries aloud, and got caffeinated! A joyous night indeed! Hugs. Thanks for your support. Love, Gwendolen

What a wonderful write this poem really is! I hate to see it crash land at the end! That was a humorous ending of that Limerick with respect to the flying kite falling down and joining the ground! I really enjoyed your poem that I have read late this evening! Great Work!!
