Will You See Truth Beyond That Dark Stone Fence

Will You See Truth Beyond That Dark Stone Fence Can you feel true heart in early dawn's light soft grace and gentle winds in Spring's new flight. Can soul feel Nature's benevolent course from open mind, mankind's weakness divorce? Hear morning doves as they sing out soft calls let kindness escape from imprisoned walls. Gather knowledge, true strength from mother Earth seek truth in doing right with all your worth. See brilliance in every golden sunset cease striving for all earth's wealth you can get. See Nature, its great eye-opening gifts let grace come as your spirit it uplifts. Will you see truth beyond that dark stone fence find calm over world's chaotic suspense? R.J. Lindley, April 14th, 1982

Robert, A fine poem to find this evening. The final couplet asks an important question. The first stanza begs an equally important truth to be fulfilled yet, in redemption. -Richard

Thank you for the direction. I used you sonnet as something to shoot for when attempting to pen my first. Sonnets are tough forms as I learned today. So few syllables, so much to say, so far to reach.

How I miss my own rising up with early sunrise; and how I loved my steaming hot coffee as I watched the dawn break! I work the night shift at H.M Rail Terminal...sometimes I get a quick glimpse of the new day as it rolls in across the tracks...just a quick glimpse. Your beautiful poem reminds me so very much of all what I miss out on now. Truly lovely poem, Robert...truly it is. My very warmest regards, my good friend - and my very best wishes as always! :) john

Beautifully written. I felt the "calm over world's chaotic suspense" while reading this poem, and then the last line put my feeling into words. Very cool.
