Will You Accept This Call
There's ringing in my heart again I recognize the tone.
The past is calling me again trying to reach me on the phone.
Why does it keep on haunting me? why won't it stay away?
It's always just the same old thing there's nothing new to say.
From the minute if I answered it I know what to expect.
Cause every time it ever calls it always calls collect.
Years of listening to it as it told me I was wrong.
I won't do it anymore that same old dance and song.
I found a place to rest my heart and ease my weary mind.
The past can't take the hint that I've left it far behind.
Every night eye to eye we danced toe to toe.
It thought that I was joking last time I turned to go.
I told the past I'm leaving you things are not like before.
This time when I leave you I won't dwell here anymore.
I guess I'll change the number on my antique telephone.
Until I find a better way to make the past leave me alone.
