Notes About The Poem

Cartoon Character Clerihew Contest Sponsored by Tania Kitchin 8/13/25

Don Quixote from free pix

Wile E Coyote

Death defying, Wile E Coyote Was never a real hero unlike Don Quixote Wile E couldn’t outsmart Road Runner’s tricks Not surprisingly he always ended up in a fix!

My favorite Wile E moment was when he picked a large rock with a stick to get it to fall (while he stood below it), then held up a sign that read "In heaven's name, what am I doing?" before the inevitable occurred. Congrats on your win.

Loved those cartoons. I grew up in the Arizona desert and saw the real roadrunners. Always wanted to go shopping at ACME :)

Man, all these Clerihews are taking me back, back to sitting cross legged on the floor 4 feet from the TV next to Billy, and in this case, this cartoon, wishing that for just once the Coyote would win. Never saw TNT so many times on a cartoon before. Very Clever as are all that Jan endeavors. Had a good time ... CayCay

Nicely done! I was never sure which one to cheer on . Wile E Coyote was very persistent and most likely starved. The Road Runner always seemed to have all. I suppose I'd cheer for Don Quxiote; I see his cartoon above the write. Same mindset as the Coyote,, though he wanted to fight WIndmills. I'd like to send a Soupmail if it's OK, with you?

Just once, I wanted to see him triumph over the real Wiley one and then say, “Beep. Beep your arse!” Loved the Don Quixote line, Jan!
