Notes About The Poem

Wild Thoughts

Fraught heart of desire I find,
breathe in like a child tossing wildflowers in the field
revel in some odd yet familiar proclivity
dance in the fires and sleep in the rain
feel not comfy but comfy in the extraordinary
for ordinary things are done by all kinds of people
Make sense to not make sense
fry someone's brain
and when your time comes to go
die knowing you lived among the living
who walk every day like the dead.

A very apt poem for the dehumanization of modern times when living isn't the vibrancy we'd like it to be. Seldom do we celebrate fields of wildflowers. A shame. Overall, a very fine, thoughtful posting, JT. Congratulations! Best wishes, Brian

True, most of us are like dead men walking … in stupor. Enjoyed the read, JTN

Dare to be different. The extraordinary appeal of the extraordinary. Sadly too many of us walk like the dead. Very well put.

Hi Jessica, wow... the ending was a wild thought. Dance in the fire (WILD) sleep in the rain <--- now that's an image I've never thought of or read in a poem. I LOVE it! Sleep in the rain *Sounds kind of peaceful. But, the brain part LOL... We are mindless I so agree. This is great free verse writing. Enjoyed. ~LINDA~
