Written: December 17, 2023 ____________________________________________ Our young braves had fled off! We stand poised; they stay live! The wildwood rose will grow. Honeysuckles also spray. Our braves were laid down low. Our young braves had fled off! The birds' rhythm will be heard. Throughout the whole winter, From the trees near his grave! Lightning sparks a sprinter. Our young braves had fled off! The world could e'er yield dross. In tears for our grave grief Our bright goal stands in blight. glued seethe and verdant leaf Our young braves had fled off! We shall now cease our search. doom was etched on his brow Still, pride ought to be praise! We breathe in gloom and bow.

Splendid write, my friend. The form you used has a rhythm that resonates in your words. You are on a roll, Lasaad.

Many in their young age have sacrificed their lives for a noble cause. You have paid a tribute to them in this difficult poetic form. Their memories make our hearts bleed and we bow our heads before them. A very powerful composition dear friend. All the Best.

Thanks for sharing this one with us that is honoring our young men who died for a cause at some time in the defense of the USA or another country. Your visit to my page was encouraging. Sara K

dearest Sotto--this seems like a tribute to those who are brave enough to have fled off...perhaps to serve their country? There was a twinge of sadness at the end 'we breathe in gloom and bow.' I sense respect for those brave enough to have fled. Am faving this one...have a great evening, your poetess friend in Texas

They always fly away... grow strong and and spread their wings and go.. I really liked the refrain, this poem seems to be about death though and loss... nice use of analogy and metaphor my friend..

Fine poetic thoughts of the young braves that left, and a message to us readers, that will should praise those that do what needs to be done. I especially enjoyed the line, " Our bright goal stands in blight. glued seethe and verdant leaf". Very poetic, my friend. A FAV for my list! Bill
