Notes About The Poem

Widow

Listen to poem:
i say the word out loud
its sound
dead weight
falling
lost in a vortex
the echo muffled

i say the word
of what I have become
i am no longer whole
the part of me gone
i will never recover

i say the word
to somehow befriend it
be less afraid of
the gaping hole
i know will never heal

To say the word is in its self a first step forward. The comfort I've drawn from in losing loved ones is a scriptural truth. They are in God's memory, at the resurrection He will call and they will answer from the death-like sleep, Christ mentions. Hope I have not offended you with my Bible hope,

All the words lose meaning and effectiveness when a state of life surges up within a human soul and you find no real understanding of such a feeling and endurance.. But I do feel a real compassion and a great belief in the power of your Love and insight to get through your time of bereavement.. Dear Line, May you find great solace in the depth and beauty of your poetry.. My deepest regards and blessings.
