Why Do I Serve God
Do I serve God for His glory’s sake?
I’m sure of such whatever it will take
For His name, I’ll be spiritually awake.
I serve Him because I love Him, and that’s not fake
Knowing that He loves me so without brake.
Do I serve God for His commendation?
I accept such as right motivation
His guidance is what I trust in each direction.
I serve Him because I love Him with His inspiration
Assured that He loves me so in full compassion.
Do I serve God for His warning and comment?
I fear such as a curse, threat or punishment
Having His admonition drives me toward advancement.
I serve Him because I love Him, upheld by my commitment
Believing that He loves me so and delights in my achievement.
Do I serve God for His kingdom’s business?
I support such in the spirit of meekness
Privileged am I to labor thru His kindness.
I serve Him because I love Him, constrained by His faithfulness
Aware that He loves me so beyond my sinfulness.
*Hebrews 12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear."
