Why?

Why so much death and destruction? Why the pain in our human race? Why must we hear of
these disasters, that on our earth are taking place?

This is dedicated to all of those who live in Haiti and to the families of those who were
lost in the tragic earthquake over there!

The earth is waxing old and more and more earthquakes will happen..Keep the creative pen flowing...Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my work..My write about the Hawk was strickly metaphoric for something else..I have enjoyed watching a hawk family close to my home over the years...Some years I see them and then I won't see them then they are back again..Sara

I think perhaps these happen to bring out the best in mankind. The response has been truly spectacular. Nicely written. Love, Joyce

Yes this is a horrific happening and poses so many questions. I though some of our poets would be addressing it with verse. Thank you for your comments on my poem "Farmer Joe". I will be looking for your poetry. Love, Joyce

Dear Sena, If you go to a person's poem and look at the blue seciton above the poem where it says: written by:, you will see a little tiny bowl with steam coming out of it, buy that person's name. If you click on that bowl , you can send an soupmail to that person. Hope that helps you dear. To check for soupmails to you, go to the left of home page under member area and click on 'MY Soup Mail. Love, Lainie

Seana, I do not know the answer to that question. I know we are meant to learn love and compassion while here on earth, but why does it have to be through the pain of others? Very touching poetry. Love, Lainie. And - thank you for your kind comments.
