Who We Are

Although we have taken a hit.
Our spirit remains strong.
We may falter a bit.
But we keep moving along.

Our past is full of issues we have had to face.
And we have survived each and everyone.
We find ourselves in a similar time and place.
But we will be here, once the storm is done.

This darkness, we have not seen before.
But the chaos and turmoil we know.
We must believe that we can endure.
That our fortitude will continue to grow.

Have faith in who we are, and what we can do.
When challenged, we meet it headon.
We are in this together, the many, the few.
Standing firm, we will see a new day dawn.

Yes!... Have you noticed too that we 'non-young' seem to take things more calmly than the 20 and 30-somethings?! As your poem expressed it so well, we have faith in who we are and that we can make it through this. Thanks, Sandra! Cheers, Gershon
