Notes About The Poem

What's the 18th hole objective of the biggest tax increase on us ever? A certain leader will rake in huge pay-offs and provide a massive tax cut for oligarchs. What happens to everyone else? Answer: Do you think he cares?

who just got teed off

Tariffs spanked my 401k
The shank-the-ball king had to say:
I will never flub
I’ve used the right club
Just check out my lie on this play

A hole in one head maybe as all empathy for others outside his cliques fall through to silent ears. I know one thing he won’t live forever so there’s that. Lol

Karen, you've mentioned something very important the king does not realize on some level. We all leave all of this behind. However, he has never asked himself what life is all about other than himself. Sad for him now while he could still change if he wanted to. I've said before, he must have had a terrible childhood. I blame his parents for all of this!!

This fantastic limerick poem, Duke, criticizes economic decisions and leadership in politics, emphasizing the detrimental effects of tariffs and tax rises on the general populace while favoring the rich few. It concerns political leaders' empathy and accountability to the general public. The language is informal and direct, employing golf terms ("18th hole," "shank-the-ball king," "lying on this play") to convey difficult economic topics in an understandable manner. The phrase "rake in big pay-offs" implies corruption and greed, but "major tax cut for oligarchs" indicates a growing wealth disparity.

SP, you get it! Amazing that just this afternoon on 4/9, some of the tariffs were put on a 90-day wait. I guess so many people complained, but I am not surprised. Everything is up in the air with this chaos agent. Hope you are well!!!

Arthur, you're very kind. We wish the kindness was infectious like measles, but unfortunately it's not. Later!!

Very clever limerick, proper meter. He's made himself an easier target than the golf ball. CayCay

CayCay, thanks. Yes, he's really gone off a cliff. Trouble is he's taking so many of us with him. Really a shame, but not unexpected. He damages everything and we are no exception. It's all about him. He's missing honor, self-control, a sense of fairness, and empathy. These are all qualities we need to see in a leader.

A hole in one may not be his answer! 1,400 protests today in every state should shame him. Retirement funds down as the DOW Jones plumets. Even penguins get tariffs in far away deserted islands! Lol

Anaya, I went to a local protest with my cardboard sign this past Saturday, April 5. There were a lot of people there. It's a small start. The situation our king is setting up seems to be getting worse on many fronts. However, causing prices to go up seems to annoy many--even some of his supporters. We'll just have to see if the birds here get as annoyed as the penguins! Smiles!!

It's getting to the stage now where everything he does doesn't shock me anymore, it's expected. He can't be right in the head, and his cronies are no better. Tom

Tom, I'm in total agreement. He's only interested in himself and having the rest of us bow down before him. This is his chance to accumulate wealth and adulation and it gives him a chance to exercise his hatred for what most of us consider important. Smiles and regards!!
