Who Am I

“If you don’t tell the truth about yourself, you can’t tell it about other people”~ Virginia Woolf

              'Say who am I'
is a great challenge hurled on me,
      necessitating great introspection
        and clarity of thoughts.
I am learning to find who I really am.
Though never perfect, am without serious flaws.
I wish to improve with each step,
as I know, if I’m not growing, I am dying.

              I'm a poet,
        and a true aspiring artist.
I try to be a beautiful person,
        kind and compassionate.
More than anything, I am a sweet child of God.
A teacher from hilt to heel and proud to be so.
    An erudite soul with vision,
A sculptor who sees an angel within a rock!

Dear valsa, i think you are a very kind and sincere soul, i feel that through your poems, and we are all flawed to some extent, but a real person would accept that and would try to improve, and i see that through this poem itself! Youv expressed very well for the prompt, i especially love “ I try to be a beautiful person, kind and compassionate. More than anything, I am a sweet child of God“ and thats all that which matters, i think, kindness and compassion is important. Best wishes for the contest. Sending you light today and always

My dear friend, there is great depth in this write and a sensitivity so powerful, that I can almost reach out and feel it. You are a wonderful human being, someone I respect, love and admire, we all grow within ourselves daily, we are therefore dynamic, and who we are today might not be who we are tomorrow, but we forever seek for the better. So well penned my friend, Hugs, blessings, Jennifer.

"I wish to improve with each step, as I know, if I’m not growing, I am dying." -- Profound introspection. "A sculptor who sees an angel within a rock!" -- God's gift of inner vision.

Dearest Valsa, what a wonderful poem that expresses your insights into who you are - poet, angel, friend, teacher, "sweet child of God," always reaching for a new star. Couldn't agree with you MORE! So beautiful inside and out, dear friend. This is a beautiful expression of you! Best wishes for the contest! May God's warm blessings wrap around you always. Be blessed!
