Crackling leaves, amber and gold
Crunch beneath my feet, silencing the cold
Vibrant hues in grace arising, twisting
My thoughts, reflecting each memory, each
Blessing…
Crisp laughter – oaks chuckling, pines whispering
Amused by the hilarity of a cool September rain
Blessing the soul with forlorn prayers, praises
Raising hopes, encouraging dreams, stirring
Promises to always breathe… and believe –
He is with me, protecting me, accepting me
Gentling hearts, harvesting dreams, secrets
Mysteries untroubled, kissing the cobalt skies
With inspirations, creativity so bold and brilliant
There is a stirring within, where my senses tremble
Echoing the faith that lifts me from the dark days
He guides me, encouraging and inviting me
To listen to His kindness, the light
That brings me serenity
Sincere wonders, arouse in me
Longing for the moments when the fires of autumn
Whisper faith through the silence, murmuring hope
Joy that is like the most tender touch – caressing the spirit
With a trembling hand, shaky from the intimacy that quiets
Darkness, doubt and dread… lifts the soul out of the past
Permanently rejecting the long ago sins for the treasure
The fortune of the present, where there is grace
Freeing every fear from its despair, its reluctance to listen
To the wisdom that rains down on those who know Him
The answer – spoken by autumn and all the seasons, each precious
Whisper hushing the suspicion and exciting the certainty, the belief
He is with me – He lives within me – He has breathed
His love into my spirit, where I will forever
Praise and pray – through every doubt,
That this love never lets me go one moment alone, without Him
The Savior who created me, blessed me and waited for me to finally
Believe so deeply that I know He will never leave me
Each whisper of Autumn rouses me to the wonder of knowing
Through it all, whatever comes my way… through winds that leave
Dancing leaves in their wake, through quiet prayers and each step
That I take, there is love that is more alive, more amazing, more
Pleasing than anything else I’ve ever known…
It is His grace that leaves me sure that – like autumn realizes…
With each whisper of a leaf falling, there is only the promise
That death isn’t the end at all… passing into the hereafter –
I know I’ll fall straight into the awaiting arms of One
Who will bring me eternal peace and love!
With each whisper of Autumn I glimpse the awesome love
From God, who sent this beautiful season – who sent His Son
Despite having every reason to leave us without a hope!
I’m thankful that I know the One who is the maker of Autumn and LOVE
