Sometimes you wake up with a poem in your head... It started as a short one..  Hope you enjoy my Sunday musing..

tired from crawling
no desire to walk - bless me with wings to fly

in the midst of melancholic melodies of rain
through monotonous tones of charcoal clouds
take me to a place where eagles soar
free me from those who preach in shrouds

ascending above snow drenched Himalayan cliffs
far from cultural vultures preying on my mind
take me to a place where eagles soar
before sleeping volcanoes, veiling lava unwind

through soundless valleys of wasted emotions
where grave yards have become soulless meadows
take me to a place where eagles soar
to tune in with music - bubbling springs compose

away from seagulls too far from the shore
gliding through Iguazu waterfalls of regret
take me to a place where eagles soar
before my feathers become too wet

flowing from the Nile towards the Black sea
surfing over ripples of wanderlust waves
take me to a place where eagles soar
carrying me to a province our heart craves

against storms where adversity engraves wounds
towards the light where rays of sunshine reflect in golden hues
take me to a place where eagles soar
where poetry meets the alchemy of its muse

among coral lanterns floating in lilac skies
beyond the serene silence of the moon
take me to a place where eagles soar
before a skyline of stars are gone too soon

towards the aroma of my beloved's garden
where my enlightened dahlia still delight
take me to a place where eagles soar
where angels recite poetic rhymes to kiss you goodnight

resting upon ancient trees full of verdant leaves
recalling childhood dreams and that forgotten playground
take me to a place where eagles soar
creating a nest in an abode we can call our hometown

and if I could fly.... would you soar with me?

This poem is stunning — full of vivid imagery and emotion. The refrain “take me to a place where eagles soar” really carries the longing and sense of escape, and the journey through landscapes and feelings makes it immersive and moving.

A very heartfelt plea this is woven in such a rhythmic manner, brilliant rhymes and refrain stands out too, youv expressed the need to soar and be free from the chains of mundane and ignorance that we all see around us, which can be exhausting and draining! I love the subtle use of alliterations as well as your imagery and the lyrical nature of your soulful poem. Innocent dreams and restful spaces before sleeping volcanoes, veiling lava unwind! Your use of metaphors and thought provoking and easy to resonate with for readers, as so many live wishing and praying to be in a place away from the reality that isnt so easy. I see why this received all the accolades along with potd! Congratulations! Pleasure reading this! Sending you light

Hello SO, there’s something so gentle and yearning in your words, like you’re reaching out for freedom, for beauty, for a place where your spirit can finally rest and soar. I love how you take us on a journey over Himalayan cliffs, through valleys of emotion, past waterfalls of regret and rivers of wanderlust. I almost forgot I was reading and not flying alongside you. Keep reaching for the light, for music, for love, for the alchemy of poetry itself. Congrats on POTD. Summer Blessings, My Friend, Daniel

Dear Silent One, to answer your question, yes I'll soar with you. There's something magical about the clouds, being in the wind. Your thoughts take me there my sweet friend. I love this thought- ' take me to a place where eagles soar, before my feathers become too wet. ' Exactly ! I'm one that enjoys drifting instead of drowning. Spread your wings and fly, and just enjoy the view. Congratulations on Poem of the Day. :) Hugs, Brandy

Greetings SO! The beauty of life soars through every image, every color, as you spread your wings to "soar" through every part of life's journey - the ups and the challenges. How blessed are we to have your words as a guide to spreading our wings and flying above "storms," "waterfalls of regret (great image)" and "grave yards...soulless meadows" to land in "forgotten playgrounds" where children dream! Congratulations on your POTD! We miss you when you are away. Blessings, my friend.

I adore the innocence of last line, will she fly with you? Soaring together, such romance is worthy of the wait. Bittersweet where parting with the world shall illuminate sorrow. A refrain of strident chant and many cinamatic pleasures such as "among coral lanterns floating in lilac skies beyond the serene silence of the moon" beautiful images. Congratulations Silent One on the honor! I'm compelled to print this one out ~
