Where Are You, God?
I was alone, alone in this world, a world full of Heartbreak.
I was afraid, just a scared little girl, I'd taken all I could take.
First one thing, then another
Taking turns to wound my soul
First comes love, so easy to love another…
It was myself I didn't love anymore.
Where are you God?
Where have you been?
Here I am on my knees once again.
Where are you God?
Where have you been?
In a still, small voice I hear Him.
A voice I don't hear with my ears…
He says, “Oh, my child, I've always been right here.”
Each time I was hurt, I turned my heart away.
Still, God cried with me, though I did not pray.
He stayed right by my side,
With His arms open wide,
But how could I see that with my face turned away?
Where are you God?
Where have you been?
“I'm here, my child, on my knees with you again.”
Where are you God?
Where have you been?
And in a still, small voice,he said, “Here I AM…I'm so glad that you finally hear…oh my beloved child, I've always been right here…
…I was with you before the beginning of time. I was there when you took your first breath.
I created your soul, yes you are mine.
And I've walked with you or carried you each step.”
Where are you God?
“Here I am!”
Where have you been?
“Always with you my friend…
just turn around and see. Just listen close for me…”
“Where are you child, Where have you been? Because I've been here knocking but you must let me in…until then, I will wait right here. I'm counting every tear…until then,... I'll be here.”
