“Where Are We Going”...
because nothing has changed
since I wrote this poem six years ago.
S So where are we going? How do we gauge
I in judging present-day sign of the times?
G Go back in history, and one might wage...
N no better off in terms of war and crimes.
O Our time shows chaos on a global scale.
F For our safe atmosphere...attend...or fail.
T The paths to improve history...not paved.
H Hungering power, still a vice, much craved.
E End of Earth, pollution...death-engraved.
T Technology improves our human skills...
I in exchange, desensitizing hearts.
M Maintaining life behind a tech screen kills
E engagement that our face-to-face imparts.
S Sign of the times...much fear in me, instills.
