When You'Re Here.
Too much space,
bartered, hung like Spanish Moss
from my thoughts, stiff and curled with haunting wind.
But when you're here...
Sweet clausterphopia sweeps general panic
out the open windows into balm,
I am extremely calm and reserved without doubt.
When you're here.
Every whirlwind minute becomes time running,
Every second is one less until your departure.
We circle the earth and back all in a day
and our thoughts and dreams span the universe of newborn stars.
When you're here.
But, when you're gone,
grey limbs hang just a little too low encircling my mood.
The edge in the air saps my energy too
and I'm left one degree past my own comfort zone.
Alone.
Just counting the snail clock 'till I see you again
with hugs all around and my mood on the mend
Sunshine is shining, the world is my friend
just from the grace of your presence.
Cliches put aside, in this gulp of my pride
I ask you in all but emergency stride:
When will I see you again?...
