When We Get Old

When do people get old? Does it just happen, or We just know when we are told? When we are getting old - we never know. Age creeps up on us. It doesn't let us know. One day we see ourselves. We look in the mirror and see the change. We look and wonder, who that is. Did some one do a switch? As we keep looking, we see a familar face. Our face got older through the years, with traces of pain, sorrows and heart aches. What happened to bring us to this point in life? Than we reflect in our past and the answers are there to the questions we ask. Getting old is not a crime. it is only a part of life. To have grey hair is not a sin. It's our life story of where we have been. When we get old we look back on the lives that we once had.The grey hair is a gift of God that He doesn't give to just anyone...

Old, in Greek language is “geros” which means the “privileged one” Privileged by God , as you say in your poem. How else could we live without getting older? Getting older is a blessing, so we have to be thankful! Beautiful writing! Thank you for visiting. God bless you! I know He has and most certainly He will!

Listen to the song "Old Man Time". A number of artists have recorded that song, but I consider the version sung by the late Jimmy Durante to be the best. You have a good write here, but two corrections are needed: In your fourth and nineteenth lines, "don't" should be changed to "doesn't" for grammatical purposes. That's the third person singular rule of verb conjugation.
