When Tender Love Speaks
How kindled sighs of ardor’s enraged fire
Relieve my breath from time’s listless disdain,
For my language with a hidden desire
Slips through your mouth , in phrases, let them rain;
To taste fondness’ grace again and again.
Oh, speak of lyrics these eyes may not know
And let them not fall in vain, not in vain!
Wondering, thinking if I should turn and flee;
Frozen on this bright spot, I rub my eyes.
For there before me, yes to my surprise,
Is your rare evening glance, a night’s decree
Of the magic, this heart need not foresee
Until love song enthralls to take me high
Into your wide arms , a bliss ever free!
