When She Invited Her Pets To Tea
(Picture no.4)
She knelt down at the table
With a teapot full of milk.
She sat her teddy on the smallest chair.
He wore a neck ribbon of silk.
She summoned her polite pets.
She served her kittens first.
Her dog gazed at her, all dreamy eyed,
Longing to quench his thirst.
She chatted away quite happily,
Playing the lady of the house.
She imagined the kittens were her
Children. And the kanine was her spouse.
She said she'd heartily recommend
All to invite their pets to tea.
" What better company could one have
When one's an only child like me? "
