When Poets Leave

Will one more leave us in the morrow
And color sad the break of dawn
Will they leave words we can borrow
To inspire us when they're gone

Some leave no traces of their verse
Just the silence of an empty page
In quiet storms their words disperse
 In wistful winds they disengage

Will it be you or will it be me
 Who takes that silent flight
Or will we sail the cyber sea
Like ships passing in the night

Beautiful and sad, and so very pertinent. It is sad when people leave and take their poems away with them. Congrats on your win, Jospeh.

I can relate to your lovely yet sad poem, Joseph. Parting is always emotional, whichever way you look at it. In the 3 years I've been here, many people have gone their way, but hope lingers, awaiting a return. ~ Regards // paul

There seem to have been a few who have left recently, some of those were very welcoming to me when I first joined so I feel their absence. A lovely poem expressing what I think a lot of us feel. Very well done. // Barry

Hi Joseph. You have written this so well. It is so sad to see poets leave here. I understand these words you have written. I hope that we poets left here can continue to support one another and hopefully there will not be more abrupt goodbye's anytime soon. Thanks for sharing.

Very well written, Joseph. I am simply at a loss for words. I realize people have lives but I don't know why so many of our friends are leaving and not coming back. I haven't been reading any hostile comments.

My heart is heavy reading your poem Joseph:-( I am so so saddened that Charma has decided to leave soup BUT her beautiful poetry will still remain and we can still keep in touch with her via soup or e mail. I met her and her wonderful family last year and have many treasured memories:-) hugs Jan xx
