A topic I came up with years ago.
It’s not always the big things that The sweet love of my life Says has done or does that makes me love her And remain devoted faithful and true But rather the little things she doesn’t say or do As best friends and lovers She accepts as I am The warts and faults of an imperfect man That I am She’s the only one who understands me And cared to take the time I feel blessed that she puts up with me I'm still the cheeky little boy that I am And show my appreciation and heartfelt love That I can She is my mentor backbone pride my joy my anchor when there’s a storm For she made me the man I am today and made me grow up Into a man We never argue but calmly talk things through Always ready to forgive soon afterwards We make up again and start anew Always there to confide in With a listening concerned empathic ear When life gets too much And listens to all my troubles secrets and fears She is the reason I get up early from our cosey bed To provide for her by working hard To earn my pay She is the brightest star in the universe Shing so bright The one I cuddle up to and keeps me warm Every blessed night I know I’d be lost without her And find it hard to carry on and live As our love is so robust and strong Although it's not always easy That I’d struggle to cope and carry on to live When both of us are one with so much to give When we met I struck gold and held it in my hand I finally knew what true love was Made for each other She's.my devoted woman And I her devoted man.
