When Laughter Falls On Gods Ears:
When Laughter Falls on Gods Ears
Today I was reminded that “GOD still happens”
Despite it all “God still happens” No dogs barking –
On this still solemn Monday –
No birds tweeting,
No motor cars passing. Just a stillness.
And the soft rustle of the wind.
Trees danced gently and bowed gracefully
To the calm.
Out of the calm came a big bellowing burst of laughter
It resounded through the neighborhood
Like a healing medicine from God.
Did someone sweet him with a compliment-
Had he experienced a feeling of joy watching
his daughters first successful bike riding attempt.
Had his son repeated something so profound
That it tickled him into feeling happily alive.?
Oh, I do not know- But yes,
I bear witness to hearing a black man laugh today.
Today I was reminded that “The supreme being, is still supreme”!
A bird flew towards the sky.
The clouds uncovered the sun to meet his laughter
And rendered him its own blessing.
I grabbed a pen to write freely as to what I observed.
I was tickled by his tickle;
I was tickled as I heard this black- man laugh
He tickled us all with his laugh, Myself the sun and God.
Not seemingly but for sure
The sky became bluer
The sun was mild) allowing us all,
A reprieve from the summers unyielding heat.
This day has shown indescribable beauty.
RESTORING MY HOPE- RESTORING MY FAITH-
When he lauded out that laugh. Peace settled in the atmosphere
Circled the residential neighborhood, on a very solemn Monday.
A black man laughed aloud in 2016, “Oh what music rippled in his laugh”.
Touching the innermost places of joy.
Reminding Us that God is still on the throne
For whom else could make a Black Man Laugh in America.
Now that we know God still happens, we can trust him to make us perfect days
We can trust him to allow us to laugh again wholeheartedly.
This Prose Poem beat out the Poems that sat in the corner of my room
In a crate for 45 years. And takes preference on my pages.
Today a Black Man’s laugh brought me peace, love, and Joy.
When I happened to hear, a Black Man Laughing, it was like a sign;
God is speaking, washing my heart clean of grief and sadness,
Reminding me that in all that has happened: “God is still happening”
And When A black man is laughing loudly in America.
It means God has shown up. A black Man’s Laughter has
“Declared Victory” over all our enemies.
And on this is beautiful I feel assured “When a Black Man is laughing”: "God is still happening”.
