When I Sat and Watched

I sat and watched the Weeping Willow
as her branches caressed the river below
I sat and watched as summer turned to autumn
changing my world into reds and golds
I sat and watched as people strolled by
and birds sang above me in bare branches
I sat and watched nature in all her glory, transfixed
as wildlife began their long winters sleep
I sat and prayed that God had spared me
and gave me time to appreciate all that I have
and all that is.

I think more and more we yearn for the next season hoping that it will bring us out of this sad season of covid-19. I'll take the chill if it will bring us closer to God. Be blessed, dear one!
