When I Die
The end of this world is one: vanity and death
And its beginning was one: creation & birth.
Tomorrow may not to us belong
So as we travel along,
Let's do our part and not wait long
Until we feel the time can't pass us by.
If I did well in any way, compliment me now
But I know I’m awful too, forgive me now
If you have a word to the wise, say it now
And if your grudge against me calls, slap my wrist now
When my heart is still conscious
To heed your words and make a change.
If you wish to get my help, ask me now
And if you want to help me too, please do it now
If you want to laugh with me, let’s floric now
If you even want to cry with me, come now
For one day, I won’t be able to do anything
Even if I get bothered with something.
If you’ve got a heart to love, show it now
And if you feel the hatred for me, put it down
Tell me my wrongs, just now
For my apologies won’t rise from the underworld.
And if you've got some flowers, bring them now
When I still can smell and see, not when I've left this world.
If there’s something you can do, do it now
And if you have a word, say it now
When I’m still can make a vow
For one day, my tongue will be dry
And my mouth, full of sand
I won't even step on this land
My ears will be covered in rocks
And my heart will not feel, just as a rock
That time, I won’t appreciate, scold, or mock
You know, “tears shed on graves are for
Words unsaid and deeds not done before
So, now is your time because I’m still here.
Gratitude is my habit
And for this, I have my credit
But when I die, I won’t be grateful for the burial
Expensive or cheap
Since I will be “just dead”, please don’t do much
Spend less and save for your life instead
As for me, I'll be gone back to dust
I’ve got a lot to do, so I’m doing it now
Even if it’s hard, I do something just in time
So if you have something to do too, do it now
Because you might leave a lot of work
To the ones left behind when you die.
I just pray that God helps me
To do everything I have to do
Just now, while alive
And I wish that for you too.
