When I Am Weak
When I am Weak
How could I not but thank you?
When billows around me roll,
When life’s busy struggles infold me,
When battles have taken their toll.
How could I not but thank you?
When my strength fails me more each day,
When the pain that I feel plagues my body,
When I'm humbled as I pray.
How could I not but thank you?
When death comes so close to my door,
When it pushes me deeper in sorrow,
Yet somehow my spirits do soar.
For when is my soul ever freer?
When it cries out from depths I’ve not known.
When my God seems to be so much nearer,
When awaiting my heavenly home.
When now I feel love so much stronger,
When loved ones I cherish more dear.
When in sickness and pain I am blessed,
When in weakness Jerusalem’s clear.
