When God Weeps
The question hangs, a whisper so light and thin,
When God is weary, deep within,
All his strength deployed, from all the strain,
Who will hear his sighs behind the rain?
Screaming behind the thunder's echoing boom,
When shadows gather, sealing gloom?
When burdens crush his mighty frame, who will ask for nothing,
Though you know his name, but understands the silent plea of the one who holds eternity?
When anger flares, a scorching blaze, and skies dissolve in fiery haze,
When darkness swallows' light's embrace,
Who soothes the tempest in its place?
Who lulls to rest his weary soul,
And makes the broken spirit whole?
Does God, the all-encompassing power,
Ever crave solace just for an hour?
Does he, who holds the galaxies in his all mighty hands,
Ever fall down to the clouds in the darkest of the night,
Clasp his hands and whisper a heartfelt prayer,
And seek a comfort that we can't ever find nowhere?
Who truly listens to the sound,
When sorrows in his heart begin to claw?
When tears like oceans start to overflow,
Who wipes away the tide of zillion woes?
When nightmares creep, and terrors rise,
Who will help him out of his anguished screams?
Who stands beside him, strong and true,
To see the shadows as they fade right on through.
When legs grow weak, and battles keep raging on throughout the universe's endless stage,
Who lets him lean his head and provide the ground for him to stand?
Will you, o mortal, small and frail one,
Answer the call, beyond all the endless calls.
Will you, with a simple, loving hand,
Be that support, that one who will faithfully stand?
The one who listens, understands,
And offers comfort, when he needs it the most?
Will you be that someone, true and deep,
To watch beside him while he sleeps.
