When I proceed to look at life as gloomy, endless strife- When I lay down my dreams to rest- give up their mighty quest- When love's warm embers cease to burn- makes heart an icy urn- When from God's grace I flee! Sandra, I have read hundreds of your poems and I believe this is the darkest I have ever read from you. Of course this is only my interpretation. Such utter despair! If anyone has ever suffered from depression, they will totally relate to this poem.
