When I'm trapped in a web of fear,
I count my blessings tear by tear.
And though I must choose fight or flight;
God's love is my staff and my light.
When I'm struggling to find my way,
no one hears what I have to say.
And yet, like a bird, hope takes flight,
God's love is my staff and my light.
When life's road gets bumpy and dark,
my prospects suddenly look stark.
And though nothing seems to go right,
God's love is my staff and my light.
When lost within a maze of hate,
my heart cries out for a soulmate.
And yet, there's hope to ease its plight;
God's love is my staff and my light.
When I feel I am all alone,
loneliness is a crushing stone.
And though there's not a smile in sight,
God's love is my staff and my light.
When the weight of years strains my back,
my bones feel they're about to crack.
And yet, I kneel to pray each night;
God's love is my staff and my light.
