What Would You Do?

Picture yourself in a room Full of everything you love Everything you need Everything you desire Now imagine the room filling with snakes Or spiders or slime or fog Whatever makes you choke Whatever drives you mad Whatever it is, it's filling the room Covering your items Crawling up your legs Despite your best efforts You cannot wipe it off your items You cannot exterminate it at all Day by day, your heart sinks into the mess One day, you notice a door On the other side of the room Clear of the mess A way out of the fear You can make out a sign on the door "You may enter this door once It will disappear behind you Only once. Only you." The sign is disappointing, sure But all of life has its conditions It's pro and con, yin and yang Picking the least evil. What's worse? To leave all it is that you love? Or to watch as it's corrupted? To watch pollution spread Until you can't look anymore? To walk into the unknown? Or to stare at the hauntingly familiar? The choice is yours. What would you do?

That door makes you forget but doesn't do the same for all those you love left in the room. No one would ever go through the door knowing how it impacts others. The truth is there are lots of doors that lead out. At first I read your poem as self talk /Picture yourself in a room/Full of everything you love/Everything you need/Everything you desire/ what changes it is an element of allowing negative thoughts in. Try to visualise that it's the same perfect room or will be again in time
