What Politics Should Be
“A Man alone could never live
For this to achieve, a God must he be or
A beast”*
But
Since Man is neither a God nor a beast but
Rather something in between, who is struggling the one to become,
The other is to avoid,
Man, in search of the company of other men constantly is,
In order to stay alive
Thus
Into a social being, he is transformed for
His survival to achieve
Soon, however, the difficulties of his choice see and
Fast he realizes,
Living with other men, the task isn’t easy at all, for
He has, with others to coexist and with them collaborate
Since there is a lot of disagreement,
For what is right,
For what is wrong,
For how things have to be done
And
For how all men should behave
So
A set of rules has Man set forth to facilitate his
Everyday life:
To live
To work
To learn
To build and
To protect what he holds so dear
Thus
The man finally transforms himself from a social being to
A political one, the fact that has brought all of us to
Where we stand today!
However
A politician ought the best of the citizens to be and
For the common good to toil
He should on virtue’s anvil to be forged first,**, ***
If we wish him our society to lead and
Justice equally to apply
Moreover
His primary concern must be the sharing of wealth
That fairly has to be distributed, according to
Each one’s merit
And
most of all, security for his nation in his heart
Must be paramount
For
Above all interests, his country must be,
Since without it
Nothing of our goals could ever be achieved,
Because everything we can ever be
Only
Our society is able to provide!
